How to Clip a Debate Fairly: Keep the Context

Fri Oct 09 2026 | 1 min read

Debates are easy to clip unfairly. A clip should show what the person meant.

Keep the question

Include the question or claim the person is answering.

Do not cut mid-thought

Let the speaker finish the point, even if it takes a few more seconds.

Show what is being answered

If a clip is about a disagreement, make sure viewers can see what is being disagreed with.

Write honest titles

The title should match what happens in the clip.

Fair clips keep trust, and trust keeps viewers.
